We had the pleasure of being part of this farmhouse renovation. We were drafted in to skim all of the plasterboard ceilings and stud walls.
The stone constructed house had no insulation to the perimeter walls, so all the stone walls were rendered in an insulating lime render system called Eco Cork. The Eco Cork system is applied between 30-40mm thick and finished with a lime finishing plaster. It effectively lines the building internally with insulation whilst still maintaining the breathability that the stone walls require.
Where possible we kept the character of the window reveals, as well as some large curves throughout the house. We also transformed the brick fire place, creating a much softer finish.
The project was brilliant to get involved in and the customers and the main contractor were all amazing to work with.
All of the materials on this project were sourced from Ty-Mawr Lime Ltd.
