A breathable lime render system applied to insulated boards.
This grade II listed property had very low ceilings which were made of lath and plaster - there were all very blown, hanging down, sagging and generally in a very poor state. There was no insulation value to the third floor and subsequently a lot of the heat was lost through the roof space.
To resolve this, we proposed an insulated lime render system which consisted of 80mm breathable homatherm boards (more information on the system we used can be found here). The boards double up as insulation as well as carrier boards for the lime render to be applied onto. Both the render and the boards are breathable which is required for a building of this age.
A suitable lime render was applied to all of the boards and was then finished with a top coat, leaving a uniform finish throughout, ready to be painted with a breathable paint once dried.
